We love our monthly boxes. The ones that are geared toward kids are the best though. When you’re playing Camp Mom over the summer time, kids can get bored very fast. So along with my rainy day box I love checking out some of the monthly subscriptions that are offer for kids. Surprise Ride is a great box offered for kids in the 6-11 age range. They sent us one to review.
They are curated and tailored each month to a specific them. Our box was focused on Vincent van Gogh and painting. It came with paint, canvas, apron, paint brushes, a paint puzzle and some yummy gourmet popcorn to snack on. It also have a great information guide to teach your kids all about the theme of the month. In this case I was able to share my favorite painting with my daughter. Starry Night.
We had fun mixing colors to see what other colors we could make. She experimented with it for a long time. In the end she ended up painting a rainbow. Which is fitting since we created so many great colors. What’s great about this kit was that I had a lot of paint left over so we can paint lots more pictures in the future. My daughter loves painting. so it’s going to get used up for sure.
The way Surprise Ride works is just like other monthly box programs. You can sign up for a certain number of months, such as a 3 month plan (ah-hem summer time). They also offer a one time box, 6 month or monthly plan. I highly suggest the 3 month Summer Pack because right now you can get it for $75 with the code SummerFun.
Another great box that I’ll be adding to our list for future purchases.
How fun. I love Van Gogh.
Ooooo, I love that idea and the theme was FANTASTIC this month. I like Starry Night a lot too!
What a great idea! I love the summer plan…need to remember it for next summer!
My son’s a bit young for this but my nephew would LOVE it!
