The Almondmilk Switcheroo

My family (with the exception of myself) is obsessed with milk. We had a rule in our house that if someone goes to a store that sells milk they have to bring some home. That’s how fast they go through it. They eat it in their cereal, smoothies and by the glass throughout the day. I’ve been sneaky the last few weeks though by switching out their whole milk for Silk Almondmilk. I was VERY surprised at what I found.

First, I tested it on my oldest one morning during her morning routine. I switched the milk in her cereal to Silk Almondmilk and didn’t say anything to her because I wanted to see if she noticed. When she didn’t, I placed the Silk carton in front of her and snapped a picture. She thought I was losing my mind first thing in the morning taking pictures of her eating her cereal. But then I told her about the switch and she was pretty surprised. She said, “Wow I can’t even tell a difference, it’s good.”

My youngest doesn’t really have the palette to tell if I changed things up on her but I did put it in her cereal as well and I caught her drinking from the bowl afterwards. I guess she liked it as well.

My biggest challenge though was my husband. I’ve been trying to get my husband to try Almondmilk for a long time, years really. I had given up on him ditching his whole milk for anything. He recently started tracking his diet and exercise within the last few months and with that, has started drinking protein shakes. Everyday he was complaining about cutting out some of the calories of his meals with substitutions so that he could hit his goal better. One morning we had run out of whole milk so I suggested that he substitute it for the Silk Vanilla Almondmilk that I had in the refrigerator. He took a look at the carton and read that it only had 30 calories in it. His eyes bugged out of his head when he tasted it and said it was good. So his morning shakes went from being 300 calories to only 180 calories. It was one of those triumphant moments what I got to say, “I told you so!” So now I’m buying Silk Almondmilk in bulk like I was for whole milk.

Firebird is a solid dark romantasy read. You have dragon-shifter political leaders of Rome. A witch who I don’t think we have seen the full extent of her power yet. There were so many little side stories told that I believe our FMC will ...

Oh Haymich, my heart is shattered for you. This was the perfect bridge between The Ballard of Songbirds and Snakes and Catching Fire. Linking the wickedness of The Hunger Games with the victors who came together to end them. If Suzanne C...

I am thoroughly enjoying the Hell Bent series. My Demon Hunter was even better than My Funny Demon Valentine. I’m a sucker for demonology stories, and these are filled with all kinds of interesting characters. This one features a plus-si...
