I’ve been a Netflix customer for a long time. As in, before it took off. When I lived at home with my parents. When they first launched. I’ve since become my own customer now. It’s still the best program for watching movies hands down. But what I love is seeing how much they have changed and accommodated everyone into their programming. I used to use Netflix more for watching new movies that came out. I get them delivered to my house. But now that I have kids and we ditched cable to save money, we do way more streaming.
Our home screen in Netflix is now dominated by kids shows. Regardless of the fact that we watch just as many shows for ourselves as they do. Netfix is our go to platform when we have long road trips or in our case lately completely rained out weeks. All of their favorite shows are available. Parents spend nearly double during the summertime on entertainment. Which you can see why when you’re playing camp mom and going on road trips. Instead of renting movies the expensive way, you can get Netflix and stream any of their HUGE database of shows and movies. They have lots of Disney movies and shows. Along with little girl favorites like My Little Pony, Littlest Pet Shop and Scooby Doo.
We’ve recently discovered the great categories that help us find shows or movies to watch.
- Family Movie Night
- TV for Curious Kids
- Are we there yet? (Long Road Trips)
- Girl Power Cartoons (Totally a category on my home screen!)
One of my favorites is the TV for curious kids one. It’s great educational programming that has lots of animals that both my girls, young and old, enjoy watching. Plus it’s a guilty pleasure in our household. We all love watching them. We are total geeks and plan on raising little geeks as well.
Right now you can try Netflix FREE for a month. That’s the longest they have every given their service away. But it’s only $7.99 after that. Which is such an amazing price for as much as you get. You can watch on nearly any device you can think of. Gaming devices like Xbox, Wii and PlayStation. iPads, Android tablets and iPods. Your smartphones! There is seriously an app for anything you can think of. Check them out before the summer boredom blues kick in when it’s a rainy day outside and you need to get stuff done. Because let’s face it. If an episode of Sesame Street gets the dishes done without your little one climbing into the dishwasher, I’d call it a success! You can see all the great family programming they offer without being a member by going here.
Netflix.com/Families is a new destination designed to meet your family’s summertime entertainment needs. On Netflix.com/Families, parents can find lists of movies and TV shows for all kinds of special summer moments.

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Netflix. All opinions are 100% my own. (Like I said I’ve been a paying member for like, EVER!)
Netfliz has saved our evenings more times than I can count!! I love that they have tons of choices but also make it super easy with big photos so the small fry can pick ‘his shows’ all by himself too!!
Yes, I think this is huge for little ones!
We are huge fans of Netflix. So easy to use and convenient for the whole family.
I love Netflix… it is super-easy to use and love that my kids can watch their favorite shows.
We watch Netflix all the time here!!! It is a life saver!
We’ve been using netflix for a few years and absolutely love it – we dropped our cable and don’t miss it at all thanks to netflix.
Oh we LOVE Netflix for kids. It has been a lifesaver on road trips!
I love Netflex. It’s so handy!
We love Netflix, especially on the iPad. Well, my daughter does. It’s great for kids!
I’ve been a Netflix member forever too! I wish there were more customization options for the Roku box though, my other streaming devices offer the kids Netflix and the Roku just bundles it all up together. Definitely don’t regret dropping the cable for netflix!
we used to have netflix and then gave it up but we will probably get it again soon!
