Pass through the gates into a snow-covered Hogsmeade and experience the magic of Christmas in the Wizard World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood. For a muggle like myself, I was excited to see all of the holiday offerings.
This was my first time visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and I have to say that the excitement is real when it comes to a Potterhead walking through those gates.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter transforms for Christmas with holiday decorations on all of the storefronts and snow on the rooftops. It is exactly like you would imagine Hogsmeade to look like during the holidays. One of the new highlights of visiting during the holidays is a night snowfall in the Hogsmeade area. Music plays during the snowfall making it even more magical.
There are also some tasty food and drink offerings that you can try for a limited time. The Three Broomsticks features roast turkey with gravy, a pig in a blanket, a medley of vegetables, and roasted potatoes served with cranberry sauce. The Cheese Toasty with Chicken sandwich was delicious with grilled chicken, bacon, and cheese on toast. You can’t visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter without getting Butterbeer, and during the holidays you can get it served hot. It’s like sipping a butterscotch hot cocoa. It was delicious.
Holiday food is available through the end of the “Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter” event, which is January 6.
Don’t miss the Hogwarts a cappella Frog Choir as they sing holiday-themed songs with their giant throaty frogs. The frog choir is one of my favorite aspects of the music from Harry Potter. The harmonizing is beautiful. 
When the sun goes down, Hogwarts castle transforms into a snow-covered magical spectacle. The dazzling light projection “The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle” illuminates Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with colorful imagery and impressive dimensional animations that dance across Hogwarts castle in tandem to a musical arrangement from the Harry Potter movies. One of my favorite parts was when the Weasley Brothers took over the castle with their pranks and tricks. You can see more of the show in my video.
You can find great Wizarding World Christmas merchandise for sale in the shops like house stockings and ornaments. There are collectible Hogwarts castle snow globes, Hogwarts crest and mascot ornaments representing each of the houses, as well as a collection of unique tree toppers and house pennant garland.
You can even get your gifts wrapped at the Owlry with special wax seals and house color tread. I bought my daughter a wand for Christmas and had it specially wrapped to look like it came straight out of Ollivander’s.
