My husband and I aren’t a part of a lot of “social circles” that gather on a regular basis, but I do have an awesome bunch of friends and we love getting together to let the kids play or as an adult gathering for drinks and laughter. We recently got together to let the kids play and while they were all crashing out to a movie downstairs, the adults played a fun new game called Codenames: Deep Undercover. Codenames: Deep Undercover is a new spin-off of the hit game Codenames that takes players Deep Undercover with all-new words, art and mature play. Codenames: Deep Undercover is available exclusively in North America at Target and Target.com. This version is an adults only mature version that includes words not suitable for little ears but perfectly suitable for adults with alcohol flowing.
The game was pretty fun. You break into two teams of spies and there is spymaster for each team that sites on the other side of the table. The idea is to give your team clues to guess the cards laid out on the table. What makes it so amusing is having the spymaster give the clues to guess the cards for your team. Think word association with mature words! It’s easier to just show you how the game is played! Here is a video on how to play the original version.
Because of the mature cards, this game produces quite the giggles from those playing! I didn’t take pictures of some of the more risque ones but they are good. The object of the game it to find all of your spies on the board and not the innocent bystanders or the assassin. A new twist is added with the inclusion of blank cards, allowing players to introduce their own words to the game.
We really enjoyed playing and I’ll be bringing it back to our next gathering so we can giggle some more. You can find Codenames: Deep Undercover at Target!
