My Thoughts on the Marvel Avengers: Infinity War Trailer

The Marvel Studios trailer for Avengers Infinity War has finally arrived and my Spidey sense is off the charts! If you regularly read my blog you know how excited I’ve been for the Marvel cinematic “finale” if you will in Infinity War. All of the movies have been building up to this movie. They all play a vital role in the storyline and we are finally getting to see that on screen. Avengers Infinity War hits theaters May 4th, 2018.

Check out the trailer here.

I have two movies that I need to catch up on before I see Inifity War and that includes Spider-Man Homecoming and Black Panther. Those are the last two puzzle pieces I need. I think that Black Panther will play a huge role in the final Infinity Stone location as well as where some of our heroes have been hiding. Black Panther hits theaters on 2/16/18.

So a little recap of where the six stones are. Do you know about the T.H.A.N.O.S. Theory?

Space Stone (Blue T.) – This stone is encapsulated within the Tesseract which we last see in Thor: Ragnarok in Odin’s trophy room. Hela and Loki take an interest in it, but I’m sure you can guess who has it. Loki, of course, pockets it during the escape.

Soul Stone (H.?)– The final stone in the MCU is the Soul Stone, and to date, there has been no mention of it in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That can only mean one of two things. We will see it in the upcoming Black Panther movie or they skip BP and show it in Infinity War part 1 or 2! Although it is worth noting that Thanos visits Wakanda, so maybe this is the epic segway to Infinity War. The Soul Stone is tied to Adam Warlock (in the Marvel Comics) who was being created by Ayesha, leader of the Sovereign during the end credit scene in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The Marvel Cinematic Universe was produced in “Phases” and we are currently in Phase Three. While we know Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is happening, it won’t take place until after Avengers 4 and into Phase Four of the MCU so the Stones will be wrapped up with Inifity War. I think this leaves the window for the Soul Stones path to end with Adam in Phase Four, but that’s some serious skipping ahead!

Reality Stone (Red A.) – Was last seen in Thor: A Dark World when the Asgardians took the Aether to The Collector who was secretly gathering all of the stones. He almost had the Power Stone before the Guardians left with it.

Time Stone (Green N.) – Located inside the Eye of Agamotto and last seen in Doctor Strange.

Power Stone (Purple O.)– Encapsulated within the Orb. Last seen in Guardians of the Galaxy and was given to the Nova-Corps for safe keeping.

Mind Stone (Yellow S.)– This is the stone that gave Vision life in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Currently resting on his forehead, not sure what will happen to him if the stone is taken!

In Thor: Ragnarok we see Hela knock the Infinity Gauntlet from its pedestal in Odin’s trophy room and says it’s a FAKE! If you’ve watched any of the credit scenes, you would know that Thanos already has the Infinity Gauntlet. He puts it on after Loki and Ronan the Accuser both fail him in getting the Infinity Stones in Avengers: Age of Ultron. But the importance of this is that Thor doesn’t know that the Gauntlet is fake and that it is in the wrong hands.

Best line from the trailer goes to….”Get that man a shield!” That’s right, Captain America is back in action after Civil War and he looks like he has been laying low but keeping strong. We also got a look at the Winter Soldier joining the fit. Those aliens are pretty scary looking.
Vision’s life hangs in the balance when Thanos takes the Mind Stone placed in his head. The same stone created Vision in the Age of Ultron. We also see the love story unfold between Vision and Scarlet Witch. Let’s just hope he can surve without the Mind Stone.Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet, Power Stone, and the Space Stone. We didn’t get a look at the Children of Thanos, the Black Order so it’s on the serious down low or they won’t appear until the second part of the movie. I’m going with on the down low to build some suspense.

But by far the best part of Avengers Infinity War? Getting the Guardians of the Galaxy on board to save the universe! But can we talk about the hair on Star-Lord? Seriously rocking the 80’s vibe with the mustache and hair! Look how tall Groot has gotten!

What was your favorite part of the Avengers Infinity War trailer?

  • Meghan: You are so right-the best part is the line, ” Who the hell are you guys?” with the Guardians of the Galaxy cameo ahaha. I also can’t wait to see Black Panther and Spiderman Homecoming to put the links together.
