How to Train Your Dragon 2 Review

We loved the first How to Train Your Dragon, but the second one turned our love into so much more. If you’re a HTTYD fan you may be aware of the TV series that airs on Cartoon Network (and Netflix) and the short films  that follow Hiccup and his crew of vikings and Dragons. They are all great. We love the whole franchise. The latest installment, How to Train Your Dragon 2, is the summer movie to see. It doesn’t have the catchy songs like Frozen but it’s not that kind of movie.

Make sure you see the movie in 3D, because it’s a stunning ride they take you on. You’ll meet lots of new dragons and your heart strings will be pulled in the path that Hiccup has to take. The group has grown up a little so they are taking on more responsibility of the clan. Their world has opened up now that they are flying on the backs of dragons, discovering new areas and drawing the map to expand their world.

How To Train Your Dragon 2 Film Picture (1)

It’s been 5 years since they started riding on Dragons. Hiccup is asked to step up and be the chief of the clan and take over for his dad. Hiccup would rather fly the surrounding areas in search of other areas that are uncharted territories. His travels lead him to the discovery of Dragon trappers that are helping build a dragon army. Hiccup does things much differently than his father and thinks he can ‘talk this whole thing out” peacefully. He finds himself face to face with not one but two new dragon masters. One turns out to be someone very dear to him. We also get a chance to see some of the amazing things that Toothless can do that he couldn’t (or didn’t know he could) do before. Cressida Cowell’s story comes to life with some twists that aren’t the same story but the good news is that there is a third movie set to release in June 2016! Her story will be completed with a conclusion as to why there are no more dragons left. We can’t wait to see it.

If there is one movie you need to see with your kids this summer it’s this one!

Firebird
really liked it
Firebird is a solid dark romantasy read. You have dragon-shifter political leaders of Rome. A witch who I don’t think we have seen the full extent of her power yet. There were so many little side stories told that I believe our FMC will ...
Sunrise on the Reaping
it was amazing
Oh Haymich, my heart is shattered for you. This was the perfect bridge between The Ballard of Songbirds and Snakes and Catching Fire. Linking the wickedness of The Hunger Games with the victors who came together to end them. If Suzanne C...

This was a sweet romance read. I really enjoyed the audiobook narrators (Joshua Manning and Stina Nielsen). I don’t usually read books that fall into the religious category, but I’m a sucker for Scots and Irishman so that is why I wanted...
My Demon Hunter
really liked it
I am thoroughly enjoying the Hell Bent series. My Demon Hunter was even better than My Funny Demon Valentine. I’m a sucker for demonology stories, and these are filled with all kinds of interesting characters. This one features a plus-si...
