Trying out Redbeacon

I’m so excited to be trying out Redbeacon here in Atlanta! They have this fantastic service online that is free to use. Redbeacon provides a wide variety of home-service solutions, but specializes in connecting customers with the following professionals:
o        Handymen
o        Plumbers
o        Gardeners
o        Painters
o        Carpenters
o        Electricians
o        House Cleaners

There are lots of other professionals as well but those are the main ones. You request a quote and they send you matches based on ratings, background checks and even past jobs. You can even do it on your iPhone app!

Let me be totally honest here for a moment and tell you that my home is a complete disaster. We have pest problems, a broken window, my fence needs to be repaired and my carpets (need to magically be replaced with hardwoods) need a good deep clean. But my Husband and I don’t have the time to fix them. I don’t have the time to spend looking for the best professionals, reading all the reviews and calling to get quotes so I’m anxious to try out Redbeacon to cut all this searching in half!

Wish me luck, I’m not sure what service I am going to try out but I am actually more excited about trying the service more than anything.

You can try Redbeacon online at Redbeacon.com or at your local Home Depot as they are a fully-owned subsidiary of The Home Depot.

  • Seems like we are always in need of some help around here! I would like to have a plumber install a sink in our basement…well, then there’s that countertop we need in the office…

  • From a contractor stand point the service is very poor. I tried the service for free with very little results and zreo call backs on very competitive quotes. Now they want to charge a monthly service wich is not justified by the lack of quality leads. How many of these leads are just window shoping? I cant even contact the website without being redirected to the “add your credit card info here” site. very poorly thought out. This concept needs alot of tweaking. My advertising dollars are better spent elsewhere.

    • I’m sorry you feel that way Andy. We are on different sides of the system though. I’ve only had great experiences with Redbeacon. I’ve used them since this review even. The way it worked for contractors in the past was Redbeacon would send the lead info, you run the quote and if the customer selects you for the service payment was made through Redbeacon and they kept a “finders fee” for connecting you together.

I wasn’t aware that they had made changes to this process. I would contact their customer support and let them know. It seems to me they are trying to find the best way to run it. But I think contractor feedback is important because if the contractors aren’t happy then the customers won’t get quality quotes in return.

I hope you’ll revisit because I as a customer that loves how easy it is.
      Have a great week!
