This post is brought to you by VTech and The Motherhood. All opinions are my own. I’m a sucker for good technology that makes like as a parent easier and the VTech Safe&Sound® Pan & Tilt Full Color Video Baby Monitor is one of those things. I like it even more when it’s loaded with features but still cheaper than it’s competitors. It’s going on my new baby must have list. Check out the video I did to see the VTech Safe&Sound® Pan & Tilt Full Color Video Baby Monitor in action. Having a video monitor is great when your baby is little but once they hit the toddler years it’s essential. Once they are in a toddler or big kid bed they have free reign of the room and if you don’t have a camera that can see the whole room you might be peeking in on them more than you would like. I like to show people this funny video of my little one jumping around in her room and hiding while singing.
Now I can tell her to get back in bed with the talk-back intercom feature. The fact that I can pan, tilt and zoom in on her running a muck in her room is a bonus. The camera pans 270 degrees side to side and tilts 124 degrees up and down. If you have multiple children in the same room this is a required feature for checking on both of them on the same monitor. Of course it has the standard features that you’d expect from a video monitor like night vision and great audio playback, but it’s the added features that make this a winner for me.You can set the unit to alert you if the room hits a minimum or a maximum temperature as well as sound alerts, low battery and disconnection alerts. The unit can be set to vibrate as well. It also has a 1,000 foot range to reach all over your house and even yard. I never really thought that I needed to have a temperature gauge on my child’s baby monitor before but I had an incident the other day that really opened my eyes up to being a believer.
My youngest daughters room isn’t insulated properly so it can get really cold or hot in her room if you aren’t monitoring it. She was taking a nap the other day and I got an alert on the parent unit that the temperature had gotten extreme in her room. I ran up there and got her out so that she would be comfortable. It was a safety feature that I never really thought I would need until that very moment when I needed it. The VTech Safe&Sound® Pan & Tilt Full Color Video Baby Monitor retails for $179.95 which I think is a great price if you look at other monitors with all of the same features which I’ve seen going for over $200. I love it so much I’m getting another camera for my oldest daughter’s room so I can watch them playing up there together and remind her that she is supposed to be cleaning!
That video of her jumping around and singing is hilarious. Please don’t let her teach E her tricks!
