This post is brought to you by McAlister’s Deli

Nothing warms my heart more than a company giving back to the community. This November, McAlister’s Deli is partnering with Meals on Wheels America on its “Warming up the Community” campaign to help provide warm meals to seniors during the holidays.

From 11/1 to 11/30, McAlister’s will donate 10 cents for every soup sold, starting with a minimum donation of $100K, to Meals on Wheels. Third-party delivery and catering are not included.

Meals on Wheels specifically supports the senior population in America. One in 5 Americans is over 60 years of age, with 1 in 4 living alone. Many have reported feeling alone—and this year, due to the pandemic, that number has increased dramatically. Food insecurity has gotten a lot worse this year for many individuals.

It’s more than just delivering a meal. Meals on Wheels provides a valuable social need as well. Many Meals on Wheels programs around the country also manage congregate nutrition sites, such as senior centers, which offer more mobile seniors the opportunity to socialize with one another. Having a friendly smile deliver a meal can brighten a personas day. According to Meals on Wheels, 58% of home-delivered meal recipients live alone, and for many of them, the person delivering the meal is often the only person they will see that day.

Make sure to stop by McAlister’s Deli to grab some delicious soup during the “Warming up the Community” campaign to help support Meals on Wheels. For a limited time, they are offering White Chicken Chili. My favorite is the Broccoli Cheddar soup in a big bread bowl. Talk about comfort food.

Firebird
really liked it
Firebird is a solid dark romantasy read. You have dragon-shifter political leaders of Rome. A witch who I don’t think we have seen the full extent of her power yet. There were so many little side stories told that I believe our FMC will ...
Sunrise on the Reaping
it was amazing
Oh Haymich, my heart is shattered for you. This was the perfect bridge between The Ballard of Songbirds and Snakes and Catching Fire. Linking the wickedness of The Hunger Games with the victors who came together to end them. If Suzanne C...
Some Like It Scot

This was a sweet romance read. I really enjoyed the audiobook narrators (Joshua Manning and Stina Nielsen). I don’t usually read books that fall into the religious category, but I’m a sucker for Scots and Irishman so that is why I wanted...
My Demon Hunter
really liked it
I am thoroughly enjoying the Hell Bent series. My Demon Hunter was even better than My Funny Demon Valentine. I’m a sucker for demonology stories, and these are filled with all kinds of interesting characters. This one features a plus-si...
