Why Are You So Fat? #ShakleeBlogger

This is a sponsored post as part of the ShakleeCorporation blogger program. I have received free products, online support and incentives for participating. My opinions are my own.

People following the weight-loss portion of the Shaklee 180™ Program can expect to lose 1-2 pounds per week.

5 words you don’t ever want to hear anyone say. But explaining it to your kids is even harder. While we were on vacation in Kissimmee I took my daughter into the restroom and while we were both in there my daughter asked me the dreaded question.

Mommy, how did you get so fat?Shaklee 180

Wow….It was the first time I had been started by something she had said. The first thing I explained to her was that calling someone fat was a very mean thing to say and that it really hurt my feelings. But then I told her the truth. After having two children it’s harder for me to lose weight. My emergency c-section left me with terrible pain in my abdomen for months after I was healed. This prevented  me from working out. But let’s be honest. Getting motivated to workout can be tough. It’s hard when you are overweight and out of shape. You hurt worse the next morning. It can be a real downer.

I’ve been participating in the Shaklee 180™ program for 2 months now. I thought April would be my shining month but unfortunately it was not. I packed all of my Shaklee products into my suitcase but when you have some many great restaurants and things to try it’s hard to say no. I tried to get at least one Shaklee 180™ meal in each day but it was hard. I also discovered that I really can’t have any snack food in the house that I’m in love with because I don’t know when to stop. My snacks are different than most though. Mine include Guacamole, Sweet Potato Chips and Dark Chocolate. I thought I would try the Skinny Cow chocolates so that I wasn’t consuming more than I was allowed but it doesn’t help if you eat two bags!

This month was a plateau in the weight lose department but despite not seeing the scale go down everyone can see a difference in my shape. All or my friends and family have been complementing me. That’s hard to get used to. But it makes me very happy. If you haven’t seen my month 2 Vlog update you should check it out. I talk about the great races that I did this month. Such as The Color Run, the Dirty Girl Mud Run and the March for Babies. I’m addicted to doing races now so I’m going to keep on that momentum to stay active. I need to walk and run more in between them though because my knees are starting to feel it. But I have a new Jogging Stroller so I have no excuses as to why I can’t (unless it’s raining)!

My focus for next month is getting active. Taking walks every morning and trying to hit my 10,000 step goal each day. No more excuses.

  • Eating healthy can be so hard at times. I know the struggle. Hubby and I are doing P90X and we just finished week 4. This past week was a tough one for me and I broke down and ate some not so healthy food.

    Keep up the good work!
