If your family is a Teen Titans Go fan, you are not going to want to miss their first movie. I dare to say, it’s the best DC movie the franchise has made. I know that we are talking about totally different ballparks, but I haven’t laughed that hard or heard a theater laugh that hard in a long time. Humor is the missing link from DC films in my opinion. While Teen Titans Go to the Movies is a movie geared toward kids, parents and especially comic book nerds will enjoy every side-splitting second!
“It’s the funniest movie I’ve ever seen!” – Squish
I’ll be honest, I didn’t have high hopes for the movie when I went to the theater. I figured it would be a long episode of the silliness I’m used to from the show. While you will still get that, there are other parts that had me rolling on the floor. One cameo, in particular, will kill my fellow Marvel fans.
When the Teen Titans go to the big screen, they go big! “Teen Titans GO! to the Movies” finds our egocentric, wildly satirical Super Heroes in their first feature film extravaganza—a fresh, gleefully clever, kid-appropriately crass and tongue-in-cheek play on the superhero genre, complete with musical numbers. It seems to the Teens that all the major superheroes out there are starring in their own movies—everyone but the Teen Titans, that is! But de facto leader Robin is determined to remedy the situation and be seen as a star instead of a sidekick. If only they could get the hottest Hollywood film director to notice them. With a few madcap ideas and a song in their heart, the Teen Titans head to Tinsel Town, certain to pull off their dream. But when the group is radically misdirected by a seriously Super-Villain and his maniacal plan to take over the Earth, things really go awry. The team finds their friendship and their fighting spirit failing, putting the very fate of the Teen Titans themselves on the line!
The Teen Titans are joined by some of the DC Comics characters, even some of the most obscure. Nicolas Cage voices Superman, Halsey voices Wonder Woman, Lil Yachty is the Green Lantern, Kristen Bell voices Jade Wilson, and Will Arnet is the voice of Slade, the Titans nemesis! JaMonkey said her favorite part of the movie was when the Titans met Slaaaaaaaade. (You’ll understand once you see the movie.)
The goofy jokes you know and love are still just as hilarious with some new ones thrown in. Teen Titans Go to the Movies hits theaters July 27th!
