The living room is scattered with toys and wrapping paper and I refuse to clean. So after the Christmas explosion and getting all my finals out of the way, I’m going to cut loose and enjoy myself by catching up on some of my favorite shows.
I’m geeking out with the new Marvel shows on Netflix. They are dark and exactly how I would imagine a more realistic comic book coming to life. You will learn about some of the characters back stories as well.
Daredevil – Blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) fights against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the Super Hero “Daredevil” in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.
Jessica Jones – After a tragic ending to her short-lived Super Hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases in New York City.
Another great one that Netflix is Sense8 – Sense8 is centered around eight characters that live in different cities around the world who experience a violent vision, and soon find themselves mentally connected by this experience. They are suddenly able to see and talk to each other as though they were in the same place, and have access to each other’s deepest secrets. Not only must these eight adapt to this new ability and to each other, they must figure out what happened and why and what it means for the future of humanity, while being hunted by an organization out to capture, kill or vivisect them.
It’s also time to rewatch my favorite comedy, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Here is what the kids are currently binging!
Care Bears and Cousins and Popples – Blast from the past! Netflix is bringing back some classic shows from my childhood. Popples are the adorable species of brightly colored creatures that transform from fluffy balls to furry friends and back again, while keeping the same silly spirit of the original Popples characters and Care Bears and Cousins which will bring back the whole huggable gang.
Dawn of the Croods – Eep, Grug, Thunk, Ugga, Sandy and Gran are back and funnier than ever in this all-new family sitcom. Follow everyone’s favorite family as they meet new friends, outrun new creatures and encounter “firsts” the world has never seen – such as school, slumber parties, hiccups and elections. The Croods are discovering them all. Dawn of the Croods will be available exclusively on Netflix.
Project Mc2 – After getting a few more of the dolls for Christmas, my daughter started watching the series again. I wish they would make more episodes, my daughter loves this show.
