This morning we had chilly weather roll in and it reminded me of Fall. Which then reminded me that August sparks the beginning of PUMPKIN SEASON!
Call you see the enthusiasm in my typing? I know you can.
Fall is my favorite season, because of the weather and all the pumpkin I can stuff my face with. I eat pumpkin all year round but being able to get fresh ones easily is a bonus.
So I thought it would be time to start sharing some awesome Pumpkin recipes with you!
This is super simple to make and the only hard part, is leaving it alone in the crockpot for 5 hours.
Here is what you’ll need to make your pumpkin butter. 2 cans of pumpkin, Apple juice, pumpkin pie spice and sugar.
Combine the ingredients into your crockpot and set it to low. Allow the butter to sit for 5 hours, make sure that you stir it occasionally so that it isn’t thicker on the outside.

Wow! Super easy and sounds so good. Adding this to my must try list for fall treats 🙂
Do you cook if on high for 5 hours or low for 5 hours?
The setting should be on low.
how could i adapt this for a diabetic?
You could use erythritol or stevia as a substitute.
Could I use real pumpkin instead of canned?
Of course!
Can this be canned like apple butter.
As long as it is canned properly with a pressure cooker to seal them I don’t see why not. I haven’t personally tried it though.
