There are monthly subscription boxes for just about everyone nowadays, but I haven’t seen one for tween-aged girls until now. Monday Sparkles is just that, a box for girls between the ages of 8 and 12 years old. They have a mission to help girls celebrate the power of positivity and bring Earth, love, and sparkle to their lives one box at a time. It has fun themes each month and this month’s box was the Summer Dream Box.
My daughter was really excited about everything in the box. You can see that from the video we did below.
After we opened the box she immediately started decorating her dream box. She broke out her glitter glue pens to make it all her own. She has also been writing in her little dream journal daily. It’s super cute. Previous boxes have also included crafts that the girls can do. This is one of the highlights from Monday Sparkles:
So, the big question: Why tweens? Preadolescence or the “Tween Years” can bring its own challenges and anxieties, and, unlike most of the phases of childhood before this, crucial elements of preadolescence are starkly different for boys and girls. It is here that anxieties, development, and self-esteem can take unwanted turns. Enter social media and the ugly aspects of bullying, body image, and peer relationships can quickly spiral out of control. But it doesn’t have to be this way. And this is why as mothers of young daughters, we started Monday Sparkles. We want to reinforce the positive and help girls across the country celebrate this special time in their lives. One box at a time.
